In-the-Box Family Photography in Bristol – a fun, original alternative to traditional family photoshoots

I absolutely love family In the Box photoshoots — they’re one of my favourite ways to photograph families. They’re fun, relaxed, and full of genuine connection.

For anyone new to In the Box family photography, the session takes place inside a hand-built white box, large enough to hold up to three people at a time. Families squeeze in together, creating playful, close, and natural moments that work beautifully on camera.

You’re very welcome to bring along a few personal props if you’d like. A musical instrument, a favourite toy, something linked to a hobby, or even your furry family member can add an extra layer of personality to the images. And of course, pets are always welcome in my photography studio in Bristol.

For Family In the Box photoshoots, I set aside around one hour, giving us plenty of time to create a relaxed and fun session. You can expect a gallery of approximately 30 carefully edited images.

From this gallery, I will professionally curate the nine images that work best together visually and emotionally, creating the strong, cohesive grid you see in my In the Box examples. I’ll then design a showcase mock-up for you to view.

If you’d prefer a different combination of images, that’s absolutely fine — your final artwork should feel right for you. The finished piece is presented in a classic 16x16 frame, available in black or white, with the option to upgrade to a larger 24x24 framed print if you’d like something more impactful.

I’ll always guide you on what works best compositionally, but you are fully involved in the final selection to ensure the finished artwork is something you truly love.

Your booking fee secures your photoshoot date and time with me. It covers my time, experience, and creative expertise during your session, as well as the professional editing of your images.

The booking fee does not include any photographs and is not deducted from your chosen photo package.

After your session, you’ll be invited back to view your images and choose from a range of digital photo packages.
