My creative fantasy photography sessions are designed for children (and grown-ups) who love stories, magic, and a little bit of the unexpected. From wizards and dinosaurs to fairytale-style portraits, these sessions combine professional photography with carefully crafted digital artwork to create something completely unique.

Each image starts with a real photoshoot, then is finished with bespoke creative editing to build a final piece that feels cinematic, playful, and full of character.

These creative studio sessions are perfect for children who love magic, fantasy, and storytelling. I have two Harry Potter–inspired wizard outfits available to use, suitable for ages 5–6 and 9–11, and you’re very welcome to bring your own costumes too.

Studio sessions can take place at any time of year. Your child can use the props available and choose from a range of imaginative digital scenes, transforming their portraits into something truly magical and unique.

How it works

The session itself is relaxed and fun. Your child is photographed in my studio or on location using simple props and guided posing.

After the shoot, I create the final artwork using professional digital compositing and creative retouching. Nothing is rushed. Each image is built carefully to make sure the character, scale, lighting, and mood all feel believable and magical.

Dinosaur photoshoot FAQs

Are the dinosaurs scary?
Not at all. The final images are designed to feel exciting and adventurous rather than frightening. Everything is age-appropriate, and I’ll tailor the scenes to suit your child’s personality.

Can siblings take part?
Yes, siblings are welcome. We can create individual portraits or include them together in the same scene, depending on the look you’d like.

Do we need to bring a costume?
You’re very welcome to bring dinosaur outfits, explorer-style clothing, or anything that fits the adventure theme. I’m also happy to advise beforehand if you’re unsure what will work best. I do have an explorer waistcoat up to about age 8, a ranger hat, teddy, backpack, magnifying glass, telescope and dinosaur props.

What ages are these sessions suitable for?
Dinosaur sessions work best for children aged around 5 and up, but if you’re unsure, just get in touch and we can talk it through.

Is this a real dinosaur on set?
Sadly not. All dinosaurs are added digitally afterwards. Much safer for everyone involved.

No actual dinosaurs are invited into the studio. Insurance reasons.

Each image begins with a real photoshoot, followed by carefully hand-edited digital compositing created by me.

I’ve spent years mastering Photoshop and digital artwork techniques, and every composite is built manually, layer by layer. Lighting, shadows, scale, and colour are all adjusted by hand to ensure the final image feels believable, polished, and true to your child.

Nothing is automated or generated at the click of a button. Each portrait is edited slowly and thoughtfully, with care and attention given to every detail.

This is digital art created with intention, skill, and a lot of love.

Final images are professionally edited and delivered as high-resolution digital files with 8x10 print with the option to purchase extra wall art or print products.
