Documentary Wedding Photographers in Bristol
Bristol wedding photographers offering relaxed, natural wedding photography focused on real moments and genuine connection.
Wedding Photographers in Bristol & the South West for Fun, Non-Traditional Couples
Congratulations on your engagement — now comes the fun part.
We take on a limited number of weddings each year, alongside family and portrait sessions.
We’re Katie and Emily, documentary wedding photographers based in Bristol, photographing relaxed, non-traditional weddings across the South West and Somerset. We work with laid-back, inclusive couples who want their wedding day captured as it really happens — full of laughter, chaos, connection and a packed dance floor.
Our approach is candid and unobtrusive. We don’t stage moments or pull you away from your guests. Instead, we focus on real interactions, genuine emotion, and everything happening around you — from the quiet, in-between moments to the full-on party later in the day.
Every wedding is photographed by two photographers as standard, meaning nothing is missed. While one of us focuses on the big moments, the other is capturing reactions, guest interactions and the energy elsewhere — giving you a complete, honest story of your day.
We photograph weddings across Bristol, Bath, Somerset and the wider South West, specialising in alternative venues, festival-style celebrations and informal days that prioritise people over tradition.
If you’re planning a wedding that feels more like a celebration than a performance, you’re in the right place.

Two Photographers. One Brilliant Team.
Katie’s role on your wedding day
-
Capturing thoughtful details and quiet moments
-
Observing from a distance to document real interactions
-
Managing the full booking and gallery delivery process
-
Careful, natural editing that still looks like you
Emily’s role on your wedding day
-
Owning the dance floor and party coverage
-
Getting creative angles without interrupting the moment
-
Confident off-camera lighting when needed
-
Leading group photos quickly and painlessly
Emily comes from a portrait photography background and has absolutely no fear of getting up close if that’s what the moment needs. She’s creative, full of energy and lives for a proper belly laugh. On a wedding day, she’ll be right in the middle of the dance floor capturing big personalities and wild moves, then quietly stealing you away for something a bit more romantic when the moment feels right.
I’m more documentary in my approach. I hang back, watch things unfold and catch the moments you didn’t even realise were happening. Unseen smiles, nervous hands, happy tears and the quieter guests who would rather avoid the spotlight. My job is to make everyone feel comfortable enough to forget the camera is even there.
Together, we’re the perfect balance. One of us brings the chaos, the other brings the calm, and between us we tell the full story of your day exactly as it happens.
Together, we work seamlessly to document your wedding without slowing it down.

Our Wedding Photography Style
Our wedding photography is all about capturing the madness, the emotion, the romance, and the moments you didn’t even realise were happening. We photograph weddings in a candid, relaxed and non-intrusive way, focusing on real interactions rather than staged poses.
We tell the story of your day as it unfolds — from nervous excitement in the morning, to hugs, laughter and absolute chaos on the dance floor later on. The result is a collection of images that feels honest, energetic and timeless, allowing you to relive the day exactly as it was.
Wedding Photography Packages & Coverage
Our wedding photography packages are straightforward and easy to understand. We offer 2 coverage options to suit different types of celebrations:
-
Up to 3 hours for smaller or intimate weddings
-
9 hours for full-day coverage from start to finish
-
Additional hourly rate as add ons if you need more time.
Every package includes two photographers as standard — Katie and Emily. This means:
-
More moments captured
-
Multiple angles of the same moment
-
Guest reactions alongside key events
-
A fuller, more immersive story of your day
All images are delivered in a fully edited, high-resolution online gallery, ready to download and share with friends and family. Extra hours, albums and artwork can be added later if you wish.
Travel within 50 miles of Bristol is included. For weddings further afield, a flat fee of £150 covers overnight accommodation so we’re close to your venue and fully present on the day.
After Your Wedding
You’ll receive a sneak peek within 48-72 hours of your wedding day — a small selection of highlights while everything is still fresh and exciting.
Your full gallery is delivered within 4-6 weeks, often sooner depending on the season.
The more energy and fun your wedding has, the more moments we’ll capture — especially once the dance floor gets going. We’re not afraid to get stuck in and document the shenanigans as they happen.
Working With Us
We believe the best wedding photography happens when you feel completely comfortable with the people photographing you. All we ask is that you treat us like friends you’ve known for years — relaxed, easy-going, and fully part of the day.
We always like to meet our couples before booking to make sure we’re the right fit for each other. There’s no point hiring us if we’d annoy you.
We can meet in person for coffee and cake (always our preference), or arrange a video chat if that’s easier. Either way, it’s a chance to get to know each other properly before your wedding day.

I also offer documentary-style event photography in Bristol for private parties, corporate events and celebrations.
Many brides choose a boudoir session before their wedding as a confidence boost, a private gift, or simply a way to celebrate themselves during such a meaningful time.
DEPOSIT REQUIRED
20%
A 20% booking fee is required to secure your wedding date.
The remaining balance is due closer to the wedding, with full details provided at the time of booking.

Documentary Wedding Photography.
Real Moments.
Real Stories.
The best thing about weddings is the laughter, the love and, yes, the food.
We’re here for the music, the drinking, the games, and those moments where you lock eyes across a packed dance floor and forget everyone else exists.
Weddings should be one big, unapologetic celebration. Loud, emotional, a little messy, and completely you.
We’re based in Bristol, but travel doesn’t faze us. Whether you’re getting married across the South West, in Somerset, or somewhere further afield, we’re in. Road trips are all part of the fun.
"They look AMAZING!! We are going to struggle to choose which ones to frame!! Thank you so much to both of you!! xx"

Mad moments, proper love, and a packed dance floor.
Documentary wedding photography for couples who do things their way.

This is what weddings look like when people stop worrying and start celebrating.
Wedding Photography FAQs
Where are you based and what areas do you cover?
We’re based near Bristol and photograph weddings across Bristol, Somerset and the South West. Having two photographers allows us to cover the day naturally and thoroughly. If you’re getting married further afield, you’re very welcome to get in touch and we can talk through the details.
What is your approach on the wedding day?
Our approach is relaxed and unobtrusive. As two photographers, we focus on capturing real moments, genuine emotion and the atmosphere of the day as it naturally unfolds, without staging or interrupting what’s happening.
Do you offer full-day wedding photography coverage?
Yes. Most couples book full-day coverage so the full story of the day is captured, from the quieter moments through to the celebrations. With two photographers, we can document different moments as they happen while keeping the experience calm and seamless.
When should we book our wedding photographers?
Many couples book as soon as their date and venue are confirmed, particularly for peak wedding season. If your date is coming up sooner, it’s still worth getting in touch to check availability.
How do we book you for our wedding?
The first step is to get in touch via our contact form. We’re always happy to talk through your plans and answer any questions before you decide whether we’re the right fit for your day.
Do you photograph micro weddings and intimate weddings?
Yes. We photograph everything from small, intimate weddings to full-day celebrations. If you’re planning something relaxed and non-traditional, you’ll be very much our people.
What’s included in your wedding photography?
All wedding bookings include two photographers and a curated, professionally edited gallery that tells the full story of your day. Exact coverage and timings depend on what you book, and we’ll talk it through before you commit.
How many photos will we receive?
It varies depending on the length of coverage and how your day unfolds. The focus is always on quality, variety and storytelling, not hitting a random number.
When will we receive our photos?
You’ll receive your final gallery within an agreed timeframe after the wedding. If you need a small selection quickly for sharing or thank you cards, tell us and we can usually send previews first.
Do you offer engagement shoots?
Yes. Engagement shoots are a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera and end up with photos you can actually use for invites, your wedding website or guest book.
Will you help with group photos?
Yes. We’ll keep it quick and organised. We’ll help you plan a list in advance so you’re not spending half your day rounding people up.
Do you take posed couple portraits?
Yes, but we keep it relaxed. We’ll guide you gently and keep it natural, then get you back to your guests. No awkward prom poses.
What happens if it rains?
We’re in the UK, so we plan for it. We’ll adapt on the day and still get beautiful photos, whether that means using sheltered areas, indoor spaces or leaning into the atmosphere.
Do you work with a shot list?
We’re happy to include any specific requests, especially family groupings and any meaningful details. For the rest, we document the day as it actually happens so it feels real, not staged.
Can we see a full wedding gallery?
Yes. If you’d like to see a full gallery from a real wedding, we can share one so you know exactly what a complete set looks like.
Do you require a deposit and do you offer payment plans?
A booking fee of 20% secures your date. Payment plans are available if you’d like to spread the cost.
What if one of you is ill and can’t attend?
Because we work as a two-photographer team, there’s built-in resilience. In the rare case one of us couldn’t attend, we have a plan in place to ensure you’re still properly covered.

If you’d love us to be part of your wedding day, let’s meet up for a coffee and, ideally, a slice of cake too.
You’ll be filling in plenty of forms while planning your wedding, so here’s just one more. We promise it’s a painless one.
Once you hit submit, we’ll reply as soon as we can. Often straight away, because unread notifications give us mild anxiety.
We can’t wait to hear all about your plans and see if we’re the perfect fit for your day.
